Here we have a really special Japanese whisky, first release Kanosuke 2021, single malt Japanese whisky, bottled at cask strength. (ABV 58%)
Kanosuke Distillery is the name of the second-generation head of Komasa Jyozo, which has been producing Japanese shochu since 1883. Famous for it’s mellow-tasting aged shochu, he fittglynamed “Mellowed Kozuru”. This DNA has carried on in their journey in crafting single malt whisky in the modern era.
The first edition is made with unpeated malt, aged in re-charred American white oak ex-“Mellowed Kozuru” aged shochu casks. A cracking first release!
